A service set up and run by Vineyard Community Church and supported by the people of Daventry and surrounding areas.
FOOD DONATION
Food can be dropped off at one of the many Collection Points situated in stores, churches, businesses etc around the town.
FOOD SORTED
& PACKAGED
On arrival to the Food Bank, the food is checked, sorted & packed by our team of volunteers.
REFERRAL SYSTEM
Claimants are referred to the Food Bank electronically by an agent through our Online Referral System. It's easy to use and we receive all of the required information instantly.
FOOD DISTRIBUTION
Claimants come and collect the food from our Distribution Point at the Food Bank
It's hard to believe that poverty and hunger really exists here in the UK in this day and age. The truth is, it's a growing reality. So much so that Food Banks are springing up all over the country. It is reported that 1 in 5 people live below the poverty line here in the UK; that's 1 in 5 having to choose between food or gas/electricity! All it takes is a sudden, unexpected event – a bereavement, illness, redundancy or theft – to throw people into a genuine crisis.
The Daventry Food Bank was started with a view to provide emergency, essential food supplies to residents in Daventry District until other parts of the social care infrastructure come in to play. Since we started in 2010, we have been called on to assist thousands of families and individuals who have found themselves in a place where they simply have nothing to feed themselves or their children.
How food bank works
MEET THE TEAM
We have a truly amazing team of volunteers who make Daventry Food Bank happen;- from collecting food and sorting and packing food parcels to making links with new partners, receiving referrals, greeting recipients and simply offering a listening ear. Our team are dedicated to delivering a professional service come rain or shine.
